Reward your regulars
Points your customers earn and rewards they come back for
Decide what earns points, pick rewards that suit your margins, and let customers swap their points at the counter. Zawadi keeps every balance, so nobody has to remember or carry anything.

Points and rewards
Zawadi's points and rewards let a Kenyan shop give customers points for each shilling spent or for each visit, then swap those points for a free item or a discount. Customers are found by phone number, so it works for anyone, and every balance is kept for you.
What you can do
- Rules can work together: points for spend, a joining bonus and points for referrals at the same time.
- Set a minimum spend before points count.
- Limit a reward to one branch, link it to a service, or reset it every month.
- Customers can request a reward in the app for you to approve, show a QR code at the counter, or ask your cashier.
- A redeemed reward becomes a voucher the customer can use within 30 days.
- Points expire after 365 days by default, and customers get an SMS 30 days and 7 days before.
- Staff can reverse points given by mistake, and every change is logged.

How it works
-
Choose how points are earned
Give points for what customers spend, such as 1 point for every KES 100, or a set number for every visit. Add a joining bonus and points for referrals if you like.
-
Add the rewards
A free item, a fixed KES discount or a percentage off. Set the points each one costs, add a photo, and limit how often one customer can claim it.
-
Redeem at the counter
Your cashier scans the customer's QR code, or finds them by phone number, and confirms the reward. The customer gets an SMS with their new balance.
Example
A butchery rewarding spend
At 1 point per KES 100, a family spending KES 2,000 a week earns 20 points a week. A free kilo of beef at 150 points arrives in about two months, which gives back roughly 3.75% of what they spent.
Industries
Popular with
- Restaurants Points on every bill, an SMS offer for your quiet nights, and a birthday treat from the kitchen.
- Cafés A coffee card that lives on your regulars' phone numbers, with points on every cup and pastry.
- Pharmacies Reward regular customers on everyday health, baby and beauty buys, and remind them when it is time to come back.
- Butcheries Points on every kilo, credit for customers you trust, and an SMS before the weekend rush.
Questions
Points and rewards questions
Should I reward spend or visits?
Reward visits when customers buy roughly the same thing each time, like a haircut or a car wash. Reward spend when baskets vary a lot, like at a butchery or a pharmacy. You can change the rule later.
How do customers redeem a reward?
Three ways: they show the QR code in their app, your cashier finds them by phone number, or they request the reward in the app and you approve it. Each one sends the customer an SMS confirmation.
Do points expire?
By default points expire 365 days after they are earned, and customers get an SMS 30 days and 7 days before. Expiry keeps old balances from piling up.
What if a cashier gives points by mistake?
The points can be reversed from the customer's history, and the reversal is logged against the staff member who made it.
